easter funday

sweater: Anthropologie, shirt: Five Four Women's, pants: Sisley, shoes: Delman, purse: Juicy Couture, hair clip: Saks, necklace: random store in Panama, glass bracelets: Slauson Super Mall

We stopped at the park for a quick Easter egg hunt before heading to dinner at my dad's house. It looks sunny but it was so windy it was hard to get a pic without my hair blowing in my face.

The starting point for this outfit were the pants. I got them for $10 on sale about 9 months ago at the Benneton outlet and had yet to wear them. The pleated waistband caught my eye and I knew I could eventually work them into my wardrobe. I decided to pair them with a lavendar Five Four shirt that I also got for $10 on sale and also hadn't worn yet. The sweater came next and everything else just kinda fell into place.

dedication

To my grandmother who could sew a perfect copy of any outfit from sight and would sew me anything I ever wanted to wear...

To my mother who in the 80s would drag us to the closest Marshall's (which was 30 miles away in Canoga Park) or TJ Maxx (21 miles away in Cerritos) every other weekend for good bargain hunting...

To my mother and grandmother for dragging me to the fabric store where I would spend what seemed like countless hours flipping through the pattern catalogs getting fashion inspiration for the future...

To my grandmother for having a button tin for me to play in and my mother for explaining to me the importance of good buttons...

To my mother for being hip enough to dress me in Dr. Scholl's when I was 6 (proof below) ...

To my mother and grandmother whom I love for passing their style to me and teaching me bargain hunting tips...I can only hope that one day I'll pass the same tricks to my daughter...

This blog is dedicated to my mother and grandmother who would send me to school in outfits that made the other kids say 'Your mother dresses you funny'...
